I’m a bit disappointed that there’s no photographic proof on Flickr that the Empire State Building is in fact no bigger than a nickel.
Does anyone in the vicinity fancy taking their camera and a coin out and snapping a picture that proves it - ‘cos…you know that cameras never lie…

Dean Wareham announced on the Dean & Britta MySpace blog that they have acquired the ownership of the first Dean & Britta album L’Avventura and it will be re-issued on the 2nd September on the couple’s own Double Feature records. The new release will include three bonus tracks that were previously available on the Sonic Souvenirs remix EP. The album has been unavailable since Jetset went under and has been exchanging hands for inflated prices on eBay. The album will also be available through the iTunes store (and hopefully through other digital retailers).
A post by waxandwaneon the Oblivious discussion forum also mentioned that Newbury Comics will “be hosting a presale” with autographed copies for the first 200 copies sold (I’m not sure whether this is an online offer or through one/all of their stores).

It’s been a few years since I last tried to get an online forum going for A Head Full of Wishes and I thought it was time to try again. The Galaxie 500 Mailing List has been a bit quiet of late, maybe that’s because things are just quiet or maybe it’s because mailing lists are so 20th century and people would much prefer to do things in their web browser - I suppose this is where we find out.
For starters I’ve created three forums one for “on topic”, one for “off topic” and one for “tech stuff” - I was tempted to go with just one forum for everything as it seemed a bit silly to spread what may be a rather quiet enterprise thinner than necessary but I am aware that there have been list users in the past who find the off-topic posting a bit frustrating so we’ll go with this and see how things pan out.
This is an out of the box installation of phpBB and as such it is packed with “features” that probably need turning off or tweaking, if you do find anything that bothers you or that could be better please post it in the “tech stuff” forum.

James Tran who took the “Boston Sucks” photo of Dean that got him quizzed by the record company has just posted a bunch of lovely pictures from that show in Minneapolis to his Flickr stream.
I’ve just seeded a recording of Dean & Britta’s first London show from June last year on www.dimeadozen.org. The show was recorded to DAT by a friend of mine. I also have a recording of the next nights show that I’ll seed later in the week.
