Ahh… Gwendolyn Post – I love Gwendolyn Post and really wish she’d been strung out for a few more episodes… I’d have loved to have seen her doing more English things with Giles – Giles needs more Englishness around him and Gwendolyn was just so gorgeously and perfectly English…

She deserved a nice three or four episode arc instead of being fried within one.

The pictures are fun to look at, Mr. Giles, but one really ought to read the nice words as well

As an aside… while I thoroughly appreciate Screencap Paradise for providing me with most of the pics on this site – it’s nowhere near as much fun as this Unflattering Buffy Screencaps.

Joyce: You got good albums.
Giles: Yeah, they’re okay.
Joyce: Do you like Seals and Croft?
Giles: <gives Joyce a look>

I love that Giles is a music snob – and while he doesn’t necessarily have great taste (that’s proved later… in a coffee shop) – we do know that he has Cream and The Velvet Underground in his record collection so Joyce’s “you got good albums” is about right.

Of course Tales of Brave Ulysses isn’t Cream’s finest hour – and frankly their finest hour was on the Lulu show in 1969… only lasted about a minute (you need to wait (or skip) seven and a half minutes into this clip) and didn’t have any of them on stage!

Now I’m more grown up and I get Jojo’s appreciation!

Meanwhile… there’s Cordy who can fight demons with just a spatula and her tongue! She’s awesome!

Cordy: I hear you, you redneck moron. You got a dress that goes with that hat?
Lyle: I’m gonna…
Cordelia: Rip out my innards, play with my eyeballs, boil my brain and eat it for brunch? Listen up, needle-brain. Buffy and I have taken out four of your cronies, not to mention your girlfriend.
Lyle: WIFE!
Cordelia: Whatever. The point is, I haven’t even broken a sweat. See, in the end, Buffy’s just the runner-up. I’m the Queen. You get me mad what do you think I’m gonna do to you?

After all my Oz is cool posts it is worth mentioning that he does look rather silly in werewolf-mode.

And there’s Faith… oh Faith. She rocks, she rolls and she’s here to punch Buffy’s lights out… accidentally this time…

Hmm… those last two paras may suggest that my allegiances are changing.

Rules of Buffy # 3: If something doesn’t seem quite right… it’s a dream and in the next shot someone (probably Buffy) will sit up suddenly in bed.

I began having other opportunities and working on a show five days a week, 12-14 hours a day, in scene with 10 people, waiting for hours to say a line like “I think Buffy’s right,” precluded me from taking advantage of them. — Seth

And a little cut on the hand seems to do the trick!

Whistler: Angel’s the key. His blood will open the door to Hell. Acathla opens his big mouth, creates a vortex. Then only Angel’s blood will close it.

So why couldn’t a little cut on the hand have closed it again? And why did Buffy assume that she had to kill him?

I like Whistler – he should have been used more

I liked Kendra, but I don’t like how easily Dru “bagged” that slayer.
